Gloria Ken-Okoroafor, the visioner of StellaPride Academy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. Her qualifications in education include a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Lagos State University, Nigeria; a Post graduate certificate in teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Calgary, Canada, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Leicester, U.K. She is a licensed teacher in Nigeria, a full registered Secondary Education English teacher with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, a TESL Canada Professional Certificate holder and a TESL Canada Federation Member. Gloria is also a licensed teacher in the provinces of Alberta, and Manitoba, Canada where she is in active practice. Gloria is your classic life-long learner as she is on a consistent journey of self and professional improvement hence her study of Advanced Business management with specialization in Project management and Leadership at the University of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Gloria’s working expertise in online and blended learning can be traced to her different professional development training experiences through blended and online learning including earning a specialist postgraduate certificate training in Blended Learning from the renowned Athabasca university, Canada known for its provision of online university education.

After twenty years of teaching in the secondary school education system in Nigeria where she also worked through the ranks of leadership as a Head of Year, Head of Department, Assistant Principal, Vice principal (Academic), Head of School, and Principal in international schools, the yearning to make the delivery of modern international education available to every learner in Nigeria, Africa, and around the world irrespective of circumstances gave birth to StellaPride Academy online school.

Gloria’s passion spans through teacher education to education of young people, ‘the haves’, and ‘the have-nots’. Her passion is borne from her teaching experience which aligns with her personal philosophy that every young person deserves an education because education enlightens the mind to be able to think. She believes that once a person is empowered to think, they are empowered to question their world view, their lives and the status quo, and dare to seek better for themselves, their families and the society.
