With over three decades as an educational practitioner, Olurotimi Jiboku brings a wealth of experience from institutions that offer English national and Nigerian curricula. He rose through the ranks at Corona Secondary School, Agbara over 9 years as English language and literature teacher, Head of Department and Vice Principal, Administration. The administration portfolio bolstered his experience in boarding management, sports and recreation and other enhancement and co-curricular activities.

He was one of the curriculum leads when the Corona-plus curriculum was designed featuring both the English national and the Nigerian curricula. He facilitated sessions for teachers in curriculum design, implementation and practices. At Negbenebor International School, GRA, Benin City where he superintended the nursery, primary, secondary and boarding sections as Principal, there were remarkable improvement in enrolment, instructional practices and staff training.

Having cut his teeth at Chrisland College, Lagos as one of the founding teachers and houseparents, Olurotimi has had a rich and illustrious boarding house experience over the years. He served at Greensprings School, Lagos in the following capacities: Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language/Cambridge IGCSE First Language English teacher; Whole School Literacy Coordinator; Secondary Principal, Anthony Campus and Principal, Academic and Logistics. He taught Theory of Knowledge (ToK) and Extended Essay (EE) to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) students, a Sixth Form option at Greensprings School, Lekki Campus.

He was Principal, the British Oasis Academy, Abuja where he led the school towards an accreditation process by the British Council for the IGCSE as well as the WASSCE and NECO SSCE by the DQA and other educational agencies. As Deputy Head of School, Lead British International School, Abuja, he devised and supervised the virtual admission process during the COVID-19 pandemic and collaborated with other leadership team members to birth and manage the virtual classes. He is currently the Principal, Olumawu School, Wuse 2, Abuja.

Educated at the University of Port Harcourt where he earned a Bachelor of Education with honours in English from the Department of Curriculum Development and Educational Technology, he is privileged to have attended numerous courses within and outside the country including the following:

  2. An Introduction to Dyslexia/Autism- Autism Care and Support Initiative (ACSI) in Conjunction with Abuja Schools Association (ASA)

Olurotimi’s interests are in writing, facilitating sessions for staff and travelling. He has contributed to and edited journals, newsletters, brochures and yearbooks. He was a member of Uniport Writers Club; Editorial Secretary, ‘The Educationist’, University of Port Harcourt; Correspondent – Corona Schools Trust Council Newsletter; Member, Editorial Board, ‘The Blaze’ – Corona Secondary School Yearbook; Quiz Master, Corona Inter-Schools Quiz Competition and Facilitator, Implementation of the New Corona Curriculum. He has edited newsletters, yearbooks and other publications including the website and social media platforms during his tenure at Greensprings School, Lagos. He has facilitated sessions including performance management, communication and learning practices.

He was the pioneer Treasurer, Abuja Schools Association (ASA) and a Curriculum Developer and Expert Quality Assurance Consultant for Data Science, Nigeria (DSNai); Mentor, Teach for Nigeria Fellowship Programme and a member of the Governing Board of the African Church Cathedral Basic School, Durumi, Abuja. He is a Fellow, Institute of Educational Leadership Practitioners of Nigeria.

Married to Mojisola for over two decades, the union is blessed with three wonderful boys: Oluwatofunmi, an engineering graduate; Oluwatunmise, an economics graduate and Oluwatamilore, a computer science graduate.
